29th Adams-McKain Family Reunion 04 August 1948

 

p.1: The twenty-ninth annual Adams-McKain Reunion was held Sunday August 1st 1948 at Maple Isle, Maple Lake, paw Paw, Michigan. It was the largest reunion we have had for several years. Howard Gale

The annual Adams McKain reunion was held Sunday, August 1st at Maple Isle, Maple lake, Paw Paw. It was the largest reunion they have had for several years. The reunion has been held each year for 29 years. There were 40 relatives in attendance. They came from Marcellus, Detroit, Dearborn, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lawton and Coloma. The oldest member present was Mrs. George W. Adams of Detroit. The youngest member is Margaret Adams, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. (sic) M. Adams of Marcellus.

PAW PAW, June 27--Mary Louise Pugsley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford G. Pugsley, and Horace W. Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Adams, both of Paw Paw, were united in marriage at 8 o'clock Friday evening, June 24 in the Paw paw First Baptist church.   Dr. Dwight Large of the Kalamazoo First Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. Ray Clearwater, church pastor, performed the double ring ceremony before the altar decorated with palms, lilies and lighted candelabras. Two hundred guests witnessed the marriage.

 
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white skinners satin, low neckline, long fitted bodice and long train. Her veil was white nylon falling from a seed tiara of pearls. She carried a white prayer book (Note: 1949)
